Winning the 2012 OCMA's "Best Youth Artist" award on March 3rd was HUGE. We were all very happy to win and quite surprised. We have seen all the nominees play and they are all outstanding players/musicians.
Our musical style is kinda hard to define. Pop, punk, indie, alternative..we love all these genres but we don’t try to fit into any of them. Green Day, Blink 182, Lit, A7X, The Beatles, Reel Big Fish, are a few of our influences. There are really too many to list here.
Everyone asks us…so here is how we got our name... The band got its name from the condition of the walls in the garage where we rehearse. We were trying to come up with a “cool” name and were getting frustrated that nothing seemed to “ring.” When Ugly Paint first started playing we had a guy sitting in on drums and he looked at the wall one day and said, “Why don’t you call it Ugly Paint like the paint on the walls in here”? That was it.
